My father devotes his life to Torah. My mother is the one who carries everything, supporting our entire family of 11 on her own. She works, she gives, and she sacrifices without a word of complaint.
When my brother recently got married, she pushed herself to the limit to bring him to his Chuppah. But on the way to his wedding, she fell and broke her shoulder.
Now it's my turn to walk to the Chuppah. But there is nothing left. My mother has given everything she has.
UPDATE - SUNDAY (Day of the Wedding):
We just received a phone call that the furniture will not be delivered unless they get full payment today. These are the minimal basics we are dealing with.
We don't have the basics covered for the Chasuna. I have nothing a Kallah needs to begin her new home.
I look at my mother—her arm in a sling, her eyes full of pain—and I could never ask her for one more thing. She's already given me more than any mother should have to.
I'm not asking for luxuries. Just the bare essentials to start my married life with dignity.
Please help me get there.
